Enjoy better golf with our professional golf coaching

Golf coaching is all about you and what you want to get out of your game. We pride ourselves on being good listeners and aim to provide the best possible professional advice, whilst ensuring each lesson is tailored and enjoyable for the golfer.

Why Coaching?

We’re passionate about helping you play better golf.

Every golfer enjoys the game more when they’re hitting good shots and playing well. This is our mission for you.

Think back to your last few rounds and try to pinpoint an area that cost you shots…

Maybe, you had too many three-putts as a result of poor distance control? Or did you miss too many fairways to the right meaning you had to chip out sideways? It could be that you play well in practice rounds with your friends but struggle to replicate that in competitions?

Through our experiences in the game and our PGA education, we appreciate that every golfer is different. That’s why we offer a range of lessons and packages to suit everyone.

Jonathan Markham - Head PGA Professional

I took on the role of Head Professional in June 2012 following 10 years as Assistant Professional. I became a fully qualified PGA Golf Professional in 2005 having achieved a Merit grade in my PGA diploma. I enjoyed a successful amateur career during which I represented Suffolk at every level from Under 14’s to the First team. I won the Suffolk Junior Matchplay Championship and the Suffolk Amateur Foursomes Championship twice. As a Professional, I have enjoyed success in Pro-Am’s and Winter Alliances, as well as getting to the final stage of ‘The Open’ qualifying. My main objective is to provide the highest level of service in all areas of the golf operation. I am assisted with this by my wife, Gemma, and assistant Professional, Alex Davey, who works in the Golf Shop with me.

Alex Davey - Teaching PGA Professional

I first joined the club at the age of 13 as a junior. My first handicap was 28 which I received about six months later. At the age of 17, I was representing the club in various County knockout competitions. I’ve been working in the shop since 2014 as a shop assistant and I then turned pro off a handicap of 2 at the age of 18. My best success is qualifying for the National Assistant Professionals Championship in 2016. I am now fully focussed on teaching. As of 2024 I now hold Accredited status with the PGA. This is in recognition of meeting the PGA’s CPD (Continued Professional Development) standards.
